What is this?
Based within Eastwood High School in East Renfrewshire this project is seeking to develop an effective model of personal learning planning that is suitable for secondary schools. Despite successful approaches in primary schools, there has been very limited success across Scotland in finding a realistic and workable approach to personal learning planning in secondary schools. Eastwood High School therefore hope to develop a model that they can implement over the next two years, and that then can be shared with other schools across Scotland.
The school has already carried out a considerable amount of work over the last two sessions with associated primary schools to develop a personal learning plan format. In line with recent Scottish Executive proposals the school has now moved towards a model which integrates formative assessment into personal learning planning to a far greater extent. This project should assist the school to deliver more effectively the move towards personal learning planning as a process.
